I have started a new series on GameMakers: "Mastering the Chinese Game Market"!

I have started a new column on the game developer media site "GameMakers", focusing on entering the Chinese game market. I will be writing about the current state of China's entertainment market, cultural policies and regulations, localization, cultural adaptation, marketing, and promotion.

This project is supported by three excellent editors. I reconnected with Mr. Tabata, a former game collaborator from nine years ago, and through an article I wrote about the Shanghai Game Museum, I met this team. Later, after presenting at CEDEC+KYUSHU2024 in November, I was invited to expand my content on the Chinese game market. Since I've been involved in the Chinese market for over eight years since 2017, I saw this as a perfect opportunity to organize my insights into a full series rather than a one-off article.

The target readers are everyday game developers in Japan, and I aim to make the content clear and enjoyable.
